Saturday update! Surprise! But alas, it's because I can't update next week because I am away- sorry again, these next two months are going to be chaos for me!

This is so sweet! c:

Reply Rogue (Guest), 16 May 2015 03:01 am

@Toast: you might think it's sweet but maybe you've failed to notice the horrifying flashbacks and the subtle mind-controlling or at least thought-influencing butterfly making Hero doubt and mistrust? hmm?

Reply Guest (Guest), 16 May 2015 10:44 am

@Rogue: I'm not sure if that's a flashback. Assock is reacting as well to Negative

Reply Kata (Guest), 16 May 2015 11:19 am

@Guest: Nah I think Assok is reacting to her squeezing the stuffing out of him, if he were stuffed.

Reply Toast (Guest), 16 May 2015 11:07 pm

@Rogue: Well, yes, but i was referring less to the fact that the butterfly is trying to get hero not to trust RGB, and more to the fact that hero is finding ways around that. I mean, the butterfly is clearly startled when hero talks about trusting the others to make judgments about RGB, so that's probably not it talking!

Reply Wafflehead_Man (Guest), 16 May 2015 03:00 am

Oh cripes, I have no idea whether that butterfly is going to be evil or not. Immense suspense!

Reply Guest, 16 May 2015 08:05 am

Reply Guest, 16 May 2015 03:10 am

I'm sooooo glad to see negative again!!!
Also the butterfly seems suprised about hero's response

Reply Hana (Guest), 16 May 2015 04:15 am

Yeah! Digest that butterfly, Hero!!!

Reply DrKK (Guest), 16 May 2015 06:23 am

Well I guess it's time to officially freak the hell out cause OMG BUTTERFLY

Reply quoi_space (Guest), 16 May 2015 08:01 am

I know there's a huge amout of important things on this page, but one of my favorites is the fact that hero can say 'TOby' correctly. So if rgb can do the same then he literally has no excuse not to

Reply martha (Guest), 16 May 2015 09:45 am

noo but toby told her she's gonna die she shouldn't trust him D:

Reply Danana (Guest), 16 May 2015 04:46 pm

@martha: nah i think TOby only told her that more as a warning because of how many heroes failed before and what happened to him with the getting ripped apart anf all that. I think thats what he meant, i guess.

Reply Tijopi11, 16 May 2015 10:08 am

When I saw that butterfly on the last update, I thought it was part of the design of Hero's shirt and that I'd missed it this whole time.

Reply Yang Koete (Guest), 17 May 2015 04:18 pm

@Tijopi11: I saw the butterfly and thought it was on the shirt, but I love its;"OH CRAP" moment.

Reply narc (Guest), 16 May 2015 01:59 pm

Ooooh no no no. Bad things are happening.

I'm guessing the butterfly encourages/feeds on mistrust, because it seems shocked when Hero goes on to say she trusts Assok and the rest...

Reply Andrea (Guest), 16 May 2015 03:38 pm

I'd rather trust RBG than the butterfly.

Reply Guest, 16 May 2015 04:13 pm

RGB hasn't done much to be trusted or liked since the first page of this comic. So I can't blame Hero for being distrustful.

Yet I still feel a little bad for the guy, he seemed pretty saddened by her answer.

Reply AceofSpades, 16 May 2015 08:40 pm

I'm pretty sure the butterfly represents wisdom or trust itself (which is funny considering the caterpillar/worm-like creatures are doubts). But I don't really think it's evil.

This makes me feel really bad for RGB. This one time, I genuinely feel like he's being sincere, only to be shut down. I mean, I would trust him... Then again, we see just how badly Hero's experience with BW has scarred her mentally, so I don't blame her.

Reply Toast (Guest), 16 May 2015 11:11 pm

@AceofSpades: The butterfly actions wouldn't make much sense if it were wisdom or trust, given that it is encouraging hero not to trust rgb.

Reply AceofSpades, 17 May 2015 10:36 am

@Toast: that's not entirely correct. The butterfly never told hero not to trust rgb. Looking back, all it did was ask if she trusted him (to which she replied no), and told her that "this is not his journey" and "these are not his decisions". I think the butterfly is more encouraging her to think for herself.
Besides, based on what might have happened to previous "heroes", maybe it really is wise not to trust rgb. In which case, maybe not trust, but Wisdom could very well still work

Reply idk just thinking out loud (Guest), 17 May 2015 01:46 pm

@AceofSpades: nice theory, but I'm still vying for the butterfly being 'anxiety' or something along those lines. IE something that seems to be wise or makes logical sense at the time, but really just makes you panic and thus more vulnerable.

Also, butterflies in your chest/stomach? Eh, just a thought.

Reply AceofSpades, 18 May 2015 05:56 pm

@idk just thinking out loud: that's also very possible. I know I said I didn't think the butterfly is evil, I could very well be wrong. Or at least, it could represent something negative.

The whole "butterflies in your stomach" thing is a really interesting thought, too.

Reply ara_macao (Guest), 21 May 2015 12:35 am

@AceofSpades: Doubts are caterpillary things ... perhaps this is the mature form of a Doubt.

Reply Mano (Guest), 22 May 2015 01:14 am

@ara_macao: it could be skepticism. Telling you to ask questions and think instead of just distrusting strange things on instinct alone.

Reply nealywilly (Guest), 18 May 2015 07:51 pm

@AceofSpades: Could the butterfly be independence? Surely that must precede wisdom. But then again, that has to be preceded by self awareness / consciousness.

@idk: also intrigued by butteryfly / anxiety

Maybe it's meant to be more than one thing (like a butterfly's metamorphosis): caterpillars of doubts lead to anxiety then awareness / perspective then independence (of thought), then wisdom???

I'm way overthinking this GREAT COMIC!!!!!

Reply lacan76 (Guest), 16 May 2015 10:23 pm

Maybe the butterfly is hero.

Reply Toast (Guest), 16 May 2015 11:12 pm

I don't think the butterfly should be trusted, given that the page after its introduction where it told hero not to trust rgb, hero was found with a lie.

Reply Izu-chan (Guest), 17 May 2015 12:29 am

.......Is Hero's schism healing?!

Reply ThisCat (Guest), 17 May 2015 01:02 pm

@Izu-chan: I think so :)

Reply Fan (Guest), 17 May 2015 12:33 pm

Please make panel 5 into a wallpaper, it is creepy/groovy as hell

Reply Guest, 17 May 2015 05:24 pm

The one time RGB attempts to genuinely be nice towards Hero. U tried, bro

Also I love how RGB goes straight to soldier position when Hero shouts at him xD

Seriously excited to see where this will go, regardless how long I have to wait. I love this comic to bits

Reply Shmu (Guest), 17 May 2015 06:23 pm

Yikes. I don't think my feelings can handle the amount of cuteness and horror packed into this page.

Reply snip snops (Guest), 18 May 2015 09:06 am

did anyone ever think that the butterfly might be hate,,

Reply AceofSpades, 18 May 2015 05:59 pm

@snip snops: I swear to god if it is, I'm gonna be pissed xD
I've noticed that it only appears to Hero and is pretty much hiding from rgb... so that's something to think about.

Reply quoi_space (Guest), 18 May 2015 10:58 am

alright ok. mod said a long time ago that the butterfly was supposed to look like a face, with the light-grey part looking like a mouth of sorts. It doesn't mean much, but its fun to look at the eye-and-mouth expressions together that the butterfly makes

Reply Texabella, 20 May 2015 01:36 pm

Oh. My. God. Sweet jesus. Your comic instills the wonderment of Howl's Moving Castle and it's siblings while at the same time being fantastically unique.
Your art style, characters and overall pacing are all outright spectacular, by the way.
Please keep up this stunning work at your leisure.

Just read the entire comic in once ! This is absolutely awesome !!! I can't wait to see where you laed us ! <3

Reply Zee Werecat, 21 May 2015 10:00 am

the look on the butterfly's "eyespots" in the third-to-last panel seems like a look of "Say WHAT now!?" to me. XD

looks like RGB wins this round you little monochrome menace! Yeah, i don't trust that butterfly. ^^;

Reply Guest, 23 May 2015 11:19 am

I love how RBG reaches his hand out in this page and before when Hero reached out to hold RBG's hand, RBG didn't like that. So cool.
